The Story Behind the Miracle
How faith, heartbreak, and unyielding courage converged in the delivery room to birth an eternal bond between two mothers.

A Note From Sister Y
Author & Adoption Advocate
When people think of adoption, they often imagine a baby gently placed into waiting arms with smiles all around. What the world rarely witnesses is the sanctuary of the hospital room where a young woman holds her newborn against her chest, memorizing every eyelash, knowing she must soon place that child into the arms of another.
For years, I kept our family journal tucked away in a cedar chest. Every page contained the tears of two women: the birth mother who whispered blessings into his ear, and the adoptive mother on her knees praying that God would preserve that sweet birth mother’s dignity and give us the strength to love without fear.
"We were not rivals in a custody battle of the heart; we were two guardians of one miracle."
I wrote "Two Mothers One Miracle" because modern adoption culture desperately needs honesty. We need to honor birth mothers with the highest reverence. We need to help waiting parents navigate the agonizing quiet of the waiting list. And most of all, we need adoptees to grow up knowing they were loved with twice the intensity, by two mothers who chose what was best for them above all else.
Two Mothers, One Miracle — The Crossing of Grace
Depicting the timeless narrative inspired by Moses at the Nile: on one shore, the birth mother releases her child with prayer and weeping; on the other shore, the adoptive mother receives the child with reverence and tears of joy. Together in the corners of life, they hold the destiny of one miracle.
